Though the pair has allegedly split after eight years together, the Coldplay frontman showed his support for his ex-fianceé’s new A24 flick, Materialists, in which she stars alongside Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal.

As he closed a recent concert on his band’s Music of the Spheres World Tour in Las Vegas, he took a moment to give Dakota a subtle shout-out. “Thank you so much, everybody. Be kind to yourself. Be kind to each other. Don’t forget to see Materialists. We love you,” he said per a video obtained by DeuxMoi.

While the submitter of the clip claimed that Chris and Dakota are still going strong, the sweet gesture comes amid reports that the couple had split, with a source telling People that it “felt final this time.”

A separate source told the Daily Mail that the pair tried to make their connection work multiple times, saying, “Their relationship has been over for a long time. They just haven’t been able to figure out to make it official. Dakota held a flame for them to be together because she loved him so much and loved his kids so much.”

The insider gave more insight into the reported split, adding, “Breakups aren’t instant and they continued to break up and make up and sometimes things would work when they were away from each other, while they were working because absence makes the heart grow fonder, but then they’d get back together and little things just kept adding up to where they weren’t right for each other anymore. Dakota is devastated that she isn’t going to be around his kids as much anymore but wants them to know that she is always there for them.”
